Spanish Your Child Can Really Use

Spanish is everywhere in the United States, at school, in the community and at work. Yet many students learn verb charts for tests and still freeze when it’s time to speak.

Lessons are one-on-one, online or at our Newport Beach office, and follow your child’s class or goals. Each student is matched with a tutor by personality, goals and learning style.

Every Skill Your Child Needs

Grammar and verbs Conjugations, agreement, sentence structure and the subjunctive, explained clearly and practiced often.
Listening and pronunciation Clear pronunciation and rhythm, and following real audio at natural speed.
Reading Stories, articles and literature from Spain and Latin America, with help summarizing harder texts.

How It Works

Step 1

Assessment

We start by finding where your child is today in speaking, listening, reading and writing, and which of them needs the most help.

Step 2

Tutor match

Your child is matched with a tutor by personality, goals and learning style, so lessons feel natural from the first session.

Step 3

A plan built for your child

An individual plan follows your child’s class or goals and builds all four skills together, not just vocabulary lists.

Step 4

Feedback and progress

Your child gets clear feedback on grammar, fluency and listening in every session, and you get regular progress updates.

Meet your child’s tutor before you commit.

A free first lesson is a low-pressure way to see how sessions work and how your child connects with their tutor.

The After Class Tutors Method

Tutors pair accurate grammar with real use. Your child practices speaking, listening, reading and writing in every lesson, and learns the cultures behind the words.

  1. Strong foundations

Grammar and verbs made clear early.

  2. Real conversation

Speaking in every session, not just drills.

  3. Confidence building

A safe place to make mistakes and try again.

  4. All four skills

Speaking, listening, reading and writing together.

  5. Culture in context

Language taught alongside the cultures behind it.

  6. Independent success

The goal is a student who can keep learning on their own.

Frequently asked questions

My child has never studied Spanish. Is that okay?

Yes. Beginners start with pronunciation, everyday phrases and the present tense, then build up step by step.

Can you help with my child’s Spanish class?

Yes. Tutors support Spanish I–IV and Honors, using your child’s textbook, homework and upcoming tests in lessons.

My child speaks some Spanish at home. Can you help?

Yes. Many heritage speakers speak well but find grammar, spelling and formal writing hard. Tutors build on what your child already knows.

Can you help with AP Spanish?

Yes. Tutors cover all parts of the AP Spanish Language and Culture course, including listening, speaking, reading and timed writing.

Can we try a lesson first?

Yes. K–12 students can book a free first lesson to meet a tutor and see how sessions work.

What do we need for online sessions?

A reliable internet connection and a device with a webcam and microphone. Sessions are also available at our Newport Beach office.
