About After Class Tutors

Preparing You For College Success

At After Class Tutors, we believe every student has untapped potential. It is not a question of ability, it is a question of approach. A conventional classroom moves at one pace for everyone, but real learning happens when it is personalized, purposeful and centered on the individual. That’s where we come in.

Our founders set out to do one thing well: provide high-impact, one-on-one academic tutoring that builds skills, confidence and long-term success. For 15 years we have helped students earn better grades and test results, and build the discipline and attitude to succeed in a high-pressure academic environment.

How we work with your child

  • Expert Mentorship

We carefully match each student with a tutor who suits their learning style and goals.

  • Customized Growth

Test prep breaks each exam down by question type, so your child practices where it counts most.

  • Flexible Learning

Choose sessions at our Newport Beach office or live online tutoring nationwide, to fit your schedule.

Our Strategy: More than Tutoring

We don’t believe in generic lesson plans or programs. Every student starts with a reflective evaluation, so we get to know their strengths, challenges, ambitions and learning style.

From there we build a personalized learning plan, which can include:

  • Core Subjects

Math, English, Science and History tutoring

  • Coursework Support

Encouragement through advanced and honors courses

  • SAT®, ACT® and AP®

Test prep built around each exam

  • Study Skills

Time management coaching and study habits

  • ISEE and SSAT

    Private school admissions test preparation

Featured tutors

Mentorship, Curated, and Making the Difference

What makes After Class Tutors special is our mentorship model. We carefully pair each student with a tutor who can mentor them personally as well as academically. That connection builds trust, encouragement and involvement, and it shows in the results.

  • Two students studying together, one working on a laptop while the other reviews her notes

    A Philosophy of Confidence-First

We want students to feel capable and ready. Once they see their own progress, they need far less pushing.
