Science Tutoring That Turns Curiosity into Discovery

Experienced tutors make biology, chemistry and physics make sense, breaking hard ideas into clear steps so your child understands them, not just memorizes them.

Explore, Question, Discover

Science moves fast: new vocabulary, formulas, labs and data, often all in the same unit. When one piece doesn’t click, the rest of the unit gets harder and confidence drops.

Lessons are one-on-one, online or at our Newport Beach office, and follow what your child is studying in class. Each student is matched with a tutor by personality, goals and learning style.

Support Across Every Science

Areas of science tutoring and what lessons focus on
Area What lessons focus on
General science Observation, asking good questions and the scientific method, the habits behind every science class.
Biology Cells, genetics, evolution, ecosystems and the human body, with the vocabulary made manageable.
Chemistry Atoms, the periodic table, bonding, reactions and stoichiometry, one step at a time.
Physics Motion, forces, energy, waves and electricity, linking each formula to what it describes.
Earth and environmental science Geology, weather and climate, natural resources and how people affect the environment.
Lab skills and scientific writing Planning experiments, reading graphs and data, and writing clear lab reports.

How It Works

Step 1

Assessment

We start by finding where understanding breaks down. A chemistry or physics struggle is often a math gap, and a biology struggle is often a vocabulary gap.

Step 2

Tutor match

Your child is matched with a tutor by personality, goals and learning style, so lessons feel natural from the first session.

Step 3

A plan built for your child

An individual plan follows your child’s class, breaks hard topics into small steps and makes sure each idea is solid before moving on.

Step 4

Feedback and progress

Your child gets clear feedback in every session, and you get regular progress updates on what is improving.

Meet your child’s tutor before you commit.

A free first lesson is a low-pressure way to see how sessions work and how your child connects with their tutor.

The After Class Tutors Method

Tutors teach strategies, not answers. Beyond each assignment, your child learns to reason from evidence, read data and explain their thinking.

  1. Personalized feedback

Explanations matched to your child’s pace.

  2. Interactive learning

Working problems and talking through ideas together.

  3. Confidence building

    Encouraging curiosity and questions.

  4. Structure that sticks

Mastering each principle before building on it.

  5. Exam and time management

Planning for quizzes, lab tests and finals.

  6. Independent success

The goal is a student who can do it on their own.

Frequently asked questions

Will the tutor do the work for my child?

No. Tutors guide your child through problems, labs and reports with questions and worked examples, so they can solve the next one on their own.

What happens in a typical session?

The tutor reviews what your child is studying in class, then works through concepts, problems or lab data together, using a digital whiteboard online.

Which sciences do you tutor?

General science for younger students, then biology, chemistry, physics and earth and environmental science, including AP courses.

How often should my child have sessions?

Once or twice a week is typical. Some students add sessions before unit tests, lab exams or finals.

Can we try a lesson first?

Yes. K–12 students can book a free first lesson to meet a tutor and see how sessions work.

What do we need for online sessions?

A reliable internet connection and a device with a webcam and microphone. Sessions are also available at our Newport Beach office.

Let’s take the next step, together.
