Korean, beginner to advanced

Korean Tutoring to Speak Korean Like You Mean It

Patient, experienced tutors guide your child from reading Hangul to real conversation, with the grammar, speech levels and culture that make Korean come alive.

A Language Full of Life and Culture

Hangul is one of the easiest alphabets to learn, but Korean grammar, particles and speech levels work very differently from English. Clear explanations early on make every later step easier.

Lessons are one-on-one, online or at our Newport Beach office, and follow your child’s class or goals. Each student is matched with a tutor by personality, goals and learning style.

Every Skill Your Child Needs

Areas of Korean tutoring and what lessons focus on
Area What lessons focus on
Hangul Reading and writing the Korean alphabet with confidence, usually within the first few lessons.
Pronunciation and listening Clear sounds and sound changes, and following real audio at natural speed.
Grammar and particles Particles, verb endings and sentence structure, explained clearly and practiced often.
Honorifics and speech levels When to speak politely, formally or casually, and how to sound respectful with elders and teachers.
Conversation Everyday conversation and class presentations, until your child speaks with confidence.
Reading and culture Stories, news and media, with the culture that gives the language its meaning.

How It Works

Step 1

Assessment

We start by finding where your child is today in speaking, listening, reading and writing, and which of them needs the most help.

Step 2

Tutor match

Your child is matched with a tutor by personality, goals and learning style, so lessons feel natural from the first session.

Step 3

A plan built for your child

An individual plan follows your child’s class or goals and builds all four skills together, not just vocabulary lists.

Step 4

Feedback and progress

Your child gets clear feedback on grammar, pronunciation and fluency in every session, and you get regular progress updates.

Meet your child’s tutor before you commit.

A free first lesson is a low-pressure way to see how sessions work and how your child connects with their tutor.

The After Class Tutors Method

Tutors pair clear structure with real conversation. Your child practices speaking, listening, reading and writing in every lesson, and learns the culture behind the words.

  1. Strong foundations

Hangul and pronunciation done right early.

  2. Real conversation

Speaking in every session, not just drills.

  3. Confidence building

A safe place to make mistakes and try again.

  4. All four skills

Speaking, listening, reading and writing together.

  5. Culture in context

Language taught alongside the culture behind it.

  6. Independent success

The goal is a student who can keep learning on their own.

Frequently asked questions

My child has never studied Korean. Is that okay?

Yes. Beginners start with Hangul, which most students can read within a few lessons, then add everyday phrases and simple conversation.

My child speaks some Korean at home. Can you help?

Yes. Many heritage speakers understand and speak well but find reading, writing and formal speech hard. Tutors build on what your child already knows.

Can you help with my child’s Korean class?

Yes. Tutors support school and weekend Korean classes, and students working toward language credit, using their materials in lessons.

How often should my child have sessions?

Once or twice a week is typical. Short, regular practice works best for a new alphabet and grammar.

Can we try a lesson first?

Yes. K–12 students can book a free first lesson to meet a tutor and see how sessions work.

What do we need for online sessions?

A reliable internet connection and a device with a webcam and microphone. Sessions are also available at our Newport Beach office.

Let’s take the next step, together.
