Math Tutoring That Builds Confidence Step by Step

Patient, experienced tutors find where math stopped making sense for your child, fill those gaps and build real understanding, from fractions to calculus.

Strong Foundations for Every Math Class

Math builds on itself. One missed idea in an earlier grade can make every new topic harder, and a few bad tests can turn into “I’m just not good at math.”

Lessons are one-on-one, online or at our Newport Beach office, and aligned with what your child is learning in class. Each student is matched with a tutor by personality, goals and learning style.

Support Across Every Part of Math

Areas of math tutoring and what lessons focus on
Area What lessons focus on
Arithmetic and number sense Fact fluency, place value, fractions and decimals, so the basics feel automatic.
Pre-algebra and algebra Variables, equations and functions, and turning word problems into equations your child can solve.
Geometry Shapes, angles, area and volume, then the logic of writing a clear proof.
Algebra II and trigonometry Polynomials, exponents and logarithms, the unit circle and trig identities.
Pre-calculus and calculus Limits, derivatives and integrals, with the algebra behind them made solid first.
Statistics and probability Reading data, working with chance and drawing conclusions you can defend.

How It Works

Step 1

Assessment

We start by finding exactly where understanding breaks down. A struggle with algebra is often a gap with fractions or negative numbers from years before.

Step 2

Tutor match

Your child is matched with a tutor by personality, goals and learning style, so lessons feel natural from the first session.

Step 3

A plan built for your child

An individual plan closes the gaps first, then moves forward one topic at a time, only once each step is mastered.

Step 4

Feedback and progress

Your child gets clear feedback in every session, and you get regular progress updates on what is improving.

Meet your child’s tutor before you commit.

A free first lesson is a low-pressure way to see how sessions work and how your child connects with their tutor.

The After Class Tutors Method

Tutors teach strategies, not answers. Your child moves on only once a topic is mastered, and builds study habits that carry into every class.

  1. Personalized feedback

Clear notes on each mistake and how to fix it.

  2. Interactive learning

Your child works the problems, the tutor guides.

  3. Confidence building

Small wins that make math feel doable again.

  4. Structure that sticks

    Step-by-step methods for multi-step problems.

  5. Exam and time management

Pacing, checking work and staying calm on tests.

  6. Independent success

The goal is a student who can do it on their own.

Frequently asked questions

Will the tutor do my child’s homework?

No. Tutors guide your child through each problem with questions and worked examples, so they learn the method and can solve the next one on their own.

What happens in a typical session?

The tutor reviews what your child is learning in class, works through problems together and fills any gaps from earlier topics, using a digital whiteboard online.

How often should my child have sessions?

Once or twice a week is typical. Some students add sessions before unit tests or finals.

My child says they are just not a math person. Can you help?

Yes. Most math anxiety comes from a few missed foundations. Once those are filled in, steady practice and small wins rebuild confidence.

Can we try a lesson first?

Yes. K–12 students can book a free first lesson to meet a tutor and see how sessions work.

What do we need for online sessions?

A reliable internet connection and a device with a webcam and microphone. Sessions are also available at our Newport Beach office.

Let’s take the next step, together.
