Why Prep With Us for the ISEE

Personalized from day one

Prep begins with a diagnostic exam that pinpoints where points are being lost. Each student then follows a custom plan built around those results.

Built by expert curriculum developers

Our ISEE program is designed by expert curriculum developers and structured by question type for the biggest score impact.

Focused, one-on-one instruction

Experienced tutors lead every session, targeting weak question types to improve timing, accuracy and confidence.

Complete ISEE Section Prep

The Lower, Middle and Upper Level ISEE share the same five sections, with questions matched to the grade your child is applying to. We prepare your child for the level they will take.

ISEE sections and what practice can involve
Section What practice can involve
Verbal Reasoning Synonyms and sentence completions. Students build vocabulary in context and learn to rule out wrong answers quickly.
Quantitative Reasoning Math reasoning and comparison questions. Practice focuses on spotting what a question is really asking and estimating before calculating.
Reading Comprehension Short passages across subjects. Students practice finding the main idea, supporting evidence and the author’s purpose on time.
Mathematics Achievement Grade-level math skills. Sessions close gaps in the topics schools expect, then add timed practice.
Essay One timed essay, unscored but sent to every school. Practice covers planning, a clear structure and writing neatly under time pressure.

How It Works

Step 1

Consultation and diagnostic

Start with a consultation and a diagnostic exam to understand academic needs, goals and timelines. This helps us match your child with the right tutor.

Step 2

Personalized tutor match

Students are matched with a tutor by subject needs, learning style and schedule. The right fit means faster progress, better focus and results you can see sooner.

Step 3

Customized after-school plan

The plan is built from the diagnostic results and organized by question type. Each lesson targets the exact skills being missed, with clear goals and focused practice.

Step 4

Ongoing support and progress updates

Regular check-ins and progress updates show families what is improving, what still needs work and how the plan adjusts as the test date gets closer.

Bring your questions. We’ll help with the next step.

A consultation is a place to talk through schools, test dates and a practical tutor match.

Talk About ISEE Prep

ISEE Prep That Makes a Real Difference

ISEE prep works best when students understand the test and trust their preparation. We help your child feel ready by building skills gradually, reinforcing strengths and closing gaps before they become stressful.

Our team includes experienced educators and teachers. A coordinator matches your child within 24 hours by subject, learning style and personality, so sessions feel natural and productive from the first lesson.

Why Families Choose Our ISEE Prep

Families choose our ISEE prep because it makes a big step feel manageable, and because they can see the progress. Here’s what sets us apart:

  • Experienced ISEE tutors
  • Lessons organized by question type
  • Individual attention
  • Realistic, timed practice
  • Parent communication and progress updates

“The ISEE gave my daughter stress. But her tutor broke down the format, gave realistic practice, and she walked in calmer than I expected.”

Peter, parent

These are individual experiences, not guarantees of test scores or admissions results. Your child’s goals, starting point and ongoing practice will shape the learning journey.

Frequently asked questions

Which ISEE level will my child take?

The level depends on the grade your child is applying to enter: Lower Level for grades 5 and 6, Middle Level for grades 7 and 8, and Upper Level for grades 9 to 12. Younger applicants take the Primary Level.

When should my child start ISEE prep?

Most families start 3 to 6 months before the test date. That leaves time for a diagnostic, focused practice and full timed tests before admissions deadlines.

How is the ISEE scored?

Each scored section is reported as a stanine from 1 to 9, which compares your child with other students applying to the same grade. The essay is not scored, but schools read it.

Can my child retake the ISEE?

Yes, within limits set by ERB, the organization behind the test. Check the current retake policy and each school’s deadline before you register.

Is online ISEE prep effective?

Yes. Online sessions are live and one-on-one, with the same diagnostic, plan and progress updates as sessions at our Newport Beach office.

Let’s take the next step, together.
